SikaFix Alternative: 5 Reasons Importers Switch to BOSLAI PU Injection Grout

SikaFix alternative

SikaFix HH+ is the product most distributors have on the shelf. It is also the product most of them quietly want a cheaper source for. If you are searching for a SikaFix alternative, the question is not whether a Chinese factory can make PU injection grout — plenty can. The question is whether the specification actually matches, and what you give up in exchange for the price difference. That is what this comparison is for.

Three things push an importer to look for a SikaFix alternative. First, unit cost: a brand-owned product carries the brand owner’s margin, the regional distributor’s margin, and the local stockist’s margin before it reaches you. Second, order size: authorised channels are built for project-scale volumes, not for a distributor testing a new line. Third, and most often overlooked — a brand-name product cannot be sold under your own label.

That third point is the real reason most distributors eventually look for a SikaFix alternative. If you build a waterproofing brand, you cannot build it on someone else’s name.

SikaFix HH+ is a one-component, hydrophobic, expanding polyurethane injection grout. It reacts with a small amount of water, expands up to 30 times its liquid volume, and forms a flexible closed-cell foam. Published data: viscosity 700 cps, specific gravity 1.13, 100 % solids, non-flammable, no volatile solvents. It ships as an 18.9 L (5 US gal) pail, with the accelerator sold separately in 1 pint cans.

Gel time with 2.5 % accelerator: 3 min 15 s at 10 °C, 2 min 10 s at 20 °C, 1 min 10 s at 30 °C.

It is a genuinely good product, and the 100 % solids, solvent-free formulation is a real advantage in enclosed or poorly ventilated spaces.

Two differences matter commercially.

Viscosity. At 186 mPa·s against 700 cps, the BOSLAI grade is roughly four times thinner. Lower viscosity means a larger penetration radius and better reach into hairline cracks and tight pores — which is the whole point of injection grouting.

Non-volatile content. SikaFix HH+ is solvent-free; the BOSLAI solvent-based grade is 86 % non-volatile. If you are grouting a sealed basement or a confined shaft, that difference is worth respecting — ventilation and ignition control are required. Be honest with your customers about this, because it is the one place where the brand product is clearly ahead.

Not every job wants a rigid foam. Where a crack moves, or the substrate stays wet, or the structure holds potable water, a rigid foam can shear and re-leak. That is the space Sika occupies with its elastic PUR range such as Sika® Injection-201 CE and Sika® Injection-107 — permanently flexible resins for watertight sealing.

BOSLAI’s water-based PU injection grout is a single-component alternative in the same segment. It reacts with water to form an elastic PU gel rather than a rigid foam, and keeps permanent flexibility. Key data: viscosity 686 mPa·s, gel curing time 16 seconds, water-based and non-toxic, elastic down to −20 °C, with adjustable 8× or 16× foaming ratio.

The 16-second gel time is the differentiator. For active, flowing or dynamic water — groundwater fluctuation, live seepage, a crack you cannot dry out — a fast elastic gel stops water before it can push the resin back out.

Be clear-eyed about this. A SikaFix alternative makes sense when your market buys on measured performance and price, when you control the specification, and when you want your own brand on the pail. In those cases a factory-direct PU injection grout supplier removes an entire layer of margin between the plant and your warehouse.

It does not make sense when a project specification names Sika by brand, when the buyer requires the manufacturer’s global on-site technical support, or when a specific certification is mandatory for tender approval. In those situations, switching suppliers costs you the project, not just the margin.

This is where a factory partner separates itself from a trader. As a polyurethane injection grout manufacturer, BOSLAI customises foaming ratio (8×, 16×, up to 30×), viscosity, curing speed, packaging size (7 kg, 10 kg, 20 kg), drum colour, and full private-label branding. MOQ is flexible enough for a trial order rather than a container commitment.

Q1: What is the best SikaFix alternative for PU injection grout?

A: The best SikaFix alternative depends on the crack condition, not the brand. For active leaks and high-pressure flowing water, a solvent-based PU injection grout expanding up to 30× is the equivalent of SikaFix HH+. For moving cracks or wet substrates needing permanent elasticity, a water-based PU injection grout forming an elastic gel — such as BOSLAI’s, with a 16-second gel time and −20 °C flexibility — sits in the same segment as Sika Injection-201 CE. Always compare published viscosity, gel time and non-volatile content, then verify with a free sample on your own substrate.

Q2: How does BOSLAI PU injection grout compare to SikaFix HH+ on viscosity?

A: BOSLAI’s solvent-based PU injection grout has a measured viscosity of 186 mPa·s, against 700 cps for SikaFix HH+. Lower viscosity produces a larger penetration radius and better reach into hairline cracks and fine pores, which is the primary purpose of injection grouting. The trade-off is that SikaFix HH+ is 100 % solids and solvent-free, while the BOSLAI solvent-based grade is 86 % non-volatile and requires ventilation during application.

Q3: Can I get OEM or private-label PU injection grout?

A: Yes. BOSLAI supplies OEM polyurethane injection grout with custom foaming ratio (8×, 16× or up to 30×), adjusted viscosity and curing speed, packaging sizes of 7 kg, 10 kg and 20 kg, custom drum colours and your own brand label. Minimum order quantity is flexible enough to support a trial order before committing to a full container.

Q4: Which countries does BOSLAI ship PU injection grout to?

A: BOSLAI is a PU injection grout supplier and exporter based in China, shipping from Zhejiang to Southeast Asia (Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia), the Middle East (UAE, Saudi Arabia), Africa (Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania), Australia and Europe. Orders ship FOB or CIF with complete export documentation including TDS, MSDS. Distributors and importers with their own freight forwarder can start from as little as 200 kg.
